Lewis began his playing career as goalkeeper for his local Sunday league side, Kings Langley FC, at the age of 9 years and shortly after, was invited to play for the Luton Town Development Centre where he very quickly progressed to an academy player, signing with Luton Town FC, at the age of ten, on 24th March 2009.
Lewis was invited to play in a prestigious end of season youth tournament, The Raddatz Cup, with Luton Town in Hannover, Germany where his team played against other leading academies from across Europe including Bayer Leverkusen, Sturm Gratz and a quarter final game against FC Valencia.
During his first full season at Luton Town, Lewis played every game (including all pre-season matches), turning out against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Hull City, Newcastle United, Norwich City, QPR, Southend United, Wycombe Wanderers and Fulham FC to name a few.
Lewis also kept goal for Luton Town in further European tournaments in Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Holland, playing against some of Europe’s elite academies including Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Budapest, Grasshoppers Zurich and FC Hamburg.
