Following his departure from QPR, Lewis sought to find a club that would give him regular first team football. During February 2016, he attended various training sessions, North Greenford FC Reserves being one of them.
After two training sessions with the reserves, Lewis was invited to attend training with the first team where, within a week, he made his league debut against Royston Town FC, who were top of the Evo-Stik Southern Central Division One at the time.
On his debut, he became the youngest goalkeeper in the league. After a fine performance, helping his team to a 1-1 draw, Lewis was made first team goalkeeper for the remainder of the season, a further 17 games. During this period, Lewis received the Man of the Match award on several occasions and, as a result of his leadership skills and his ability to command the team, he was made Club Captain for the final five games of the season, becoming the youngest captain in the club’s history.
Lewis’ dedication, hard work and skills have earned him the respect of his team mates and colleagues at North Greenford FC and at the end of season presentation, following just 18 games for the club, he was awarded Players Player of The Year, again, becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to receive this award.
The Journey Continues. “Play for the badge on the front and they’ll remember the name on the back”
